After twenty years in the hospitality and financial industry, Karen has developed the experience, skills, drive to walk in her TRU Potential, her vision and lifelong mission. She is the founder of a truly innovative, thoughtful approach that leads individuals to maximize their gifts, talents and interests to not only benefit themselves but society as well.
Karen has successfully facilitated workshops for clients of such organizations as the Region of Peel, Urban Arts as well as Youth Employment Services (YES). These sessions are geared towards both Adults and youths.
In her workshops, Karen connects with her clients by authentically disclosing her own failures, missteps, as well as her comebacks. She shares how her Christian faith is the foundation that sustains her. She seeks to add value to the lives of those she serves. This is a foundation principle that drives her. At the end of each session, participants leave feeling educated, engaged, and empowered to achieve their goals, dreams, and aspirations.
When she is not speaking, planning, or organizing the next event, Karen enjoys watching movies or the odd game of hide and seek with her niece and 4 nephews. On a cold winter’s day, a cup of orange pekoe tea with 3 double cream and two sugars always hits the spot.

Its where she decided once and for all she would take her mess and use it to deliver a powerful message. Yes you can change against all odds!
Finally, able to break free from an abusive relationship and determined to break free from a victim’s mindset, bad behavior, and the negative habits that were holding back her success, she committed herself to radically transforming her life.

Her Passion was cultivated from her love for her Jamaican heritage and her humble beginnings. FIMI represents her journey and embraces her future. Sornia is known for her faith in God, positivity, and love for family & Friends.
Besides the creation of FIMI Collections, one of Sornia’s greatest achievements was graduating from TRU Potential. This program gave her the ability to share her life’s story in hopes of inspiring others.
Now she is a Speaker and Co-Facilitator for TRU Potential where she continues to use her life advocacy skills to impact her community.
